Organizers:
GeoConnections
Duration:
From 8:30-12:00
Fees:

Description:
GeoConnections is pleased to announce a workshop offered to those interested in learning more about data integration good practices and finding and using geospatial framework data.
Streams:
Increasingly, business analysts, planners and decision makers across disciplines and business sectors are visualizing and analyzing their information through a geographic lens. While online applications such as Google Earth and Microsoft Bing Maps have resulted in an exponential growth in Internet mapping, they do have data limitations.

Resources such as the GeoBase Portal (www.geobase.ca) offer online access to a wealth of freely available and authoritative Canadian geospatial framework data that can be integrated with other data to produce informative maps.

This half-day technical workshop will appeal to both casual and professional users of Internet mapping and geospatial information. The workshop is based on the recently completed GeoConnections Framework Data Guide and a current study of successful practices for data integration, both developed through the GeoConnections program.
